Fair Trade

Fair Trade

Seeing that trade between the Northern and the Southern regions of our planet are unbalanced, initiators of fair trade set up mechanisms to counteract up to a certain point the structurally unfavorable relationships for producers from the South, particularly with regard to the exportation
of agricultural products.

Aiming at replacing relationships based on assistance between Northern and Southern countries through solidarity links in commercial trade that would allow the latter to develop, fair trade has experienced important development in the last years.

The "fair trade" workshop aims at making those experiences known, as they belong to the galaxy of economic practices of solidarity, as well as at comparing them with other approaches and examining some of the issues they raise, in a period of renewal of thinking and of action.
