Who are the shareholders? Societies, institutional investors, individuals. Their field of intervention is often limited to the financial aspect of the company. However all members of pension schemes, all subscribers to SICAV funds, all who save money, lead their daily lives in their countries where they constitute civil society.
A new type of shareholder must be allowed to speak out. For this shareholder, the economy should not only constitute financial considerations, but must also include social and environmental dimensions. By the same token, companies are an element of society, with impacts on numerous partners. Our new shareholder will act to defend a durable economy which serves the interests of the entire civil society.
