Between the profession of war and the horizon of peace, the military institution has played a central role.
Its function, its traditions and the very principles of its life - sometimes refered to as values - as well as the technical imperatives of its mission interact with all of national and international life.
Thinking through the complexity of today's world requires a reflection of the military themselves about the way force has been or should be used at the service of right, in order to contribute efficiently to the construction of peace.
