I think it does for the reasons stated above.

I find it suitable desirable and ambitious. It is necessary to step forward and turn the Alliance into a more visible and active body and not only an addition of disparate efforts. The constitution is a good way to give coherence and consistence to the Alliance’s common objectives.

However I am afraid that the Council of 7 people to be established could turn into a centralised decision-making body. Decisions are not to be taken by a closed circle of allies; however respectable or representative they may be.

The Alliance has been criticised for being a group of satellite close friends that get funds from FPH on a yearly basis. This has to change if the Alliance is to broaden its credibility and capacity of impact.

I agree. I think the Charter of the Alliance should stress more the need to strengthen and foster an intercultural, interracial world. This is important these days when wars and terrorism are dividing societies on cultural identity issues.

The use of the logo seems complicated. I think it is wishful thinking to imagine that documents to wear the Alliance’s logo will be posted months in advance in the internet so as to allow other allies to agree or disagree on its compliance with the Alliance’s spirit. Why not limit the logo to Alliance documents and not to individual allies? The logo is not a small issue. The Alliance cannot permit itself to endorse any initiative just because it was posted in the internet and one or two persons agreed on it.

Seems OK but it is important to be flexible. The Alliance cannot pre-determine activities until 2010 especially in this contemporary world where things change so rapidly.

I will continue to take part in the Alliance.

Interested in being part of: the followup and improvement group for the tools and methods for experience sharing, the discussion group on the common calendar, the facilitation committee for the 2006-2007 strategy

Before proceeding any further it would be very useful to have an updated balance of the real situation of the Alliance in 2005. How many active members? which countries? which institutions? what activities? where are we present? Good luck to us all.
