European Continental Assembly

The number of initiatives expressing the desire to build a social Europe above the simple political and economic dimension is on the increase. Such a development will entail tackling both the issues of migration and cross-cultural exchanges.
The document starts by recalling certain historic facts : Europe is not the result of a democratic process of citizens, it has stemmed essentially from Christian and social liberal cultural influences, it has tried to create a certain federal homogeneity. It is by considering these features that various propositions for the construction of a multi-cultural Europe, respectful of diversity are suggested.
