News item 1 inspired by the Proposal Paper: Refusing the Privatization of Life and Proposing Alternatives, coordinated by Bob Brac de la Perrière.

In response to the proliferation of patents on plants, animals, and
even human embryos throughout the course of the 20th century,
the international community is putting a halt to the privatization
of both living organisms and biological processes.
