The Continental Meeting to be held from the 19th
to the 23rd of June 2001 in Quito will gather approximately 80
people including women, men, Indians, unionists, citizens, social
activists and scholars from all the regions of the American Continent
to share experiences concerning issues central to the future of
the continent such as: Social Movements, Indigenous People, Cross-Cultural
Issues and Economy of Solidarity.
By overcoming the traditional North-South dichotomy,
this meeting will show the world that we are making together a
dream for a responsible, plural and solidarity world. The meeting
will be the highest point in a continental process of reflection
and action.
Reflection and action will be articulated in
a synthesis of what has been done in the different regions of
the continent as a starting point for planing the future.
