Different groups of the Alliance for a Responsible, Plural and United World (mainly thematic workshops, but also some geo-cultural and collegial groups) took the initiative to create and to enliven together spaces opened to participants of various geographical and professional origins during the years 2000 and 2001, by celebrating real (meetings and workshops) and virtual encounters (the electronic forums), in order to elaborate common perspectives and strategies in their domain of work and their actions. The "notebooks of proposals" that will come out of this collective work will be published and will be distributed extensively by the end of the year 2001.

Development Process / A call to participate

The " Notebooks of proposals" are the result of a large and open collective work . They are not thought as a finished product, all, but are destinated to be completed and corrected according to contributions and experiences of everybody. In order to permit a debate rich and productive at the same time, the groups of the alliance endowed themselves of tools and methods, notably for to be able to work through distance, that allow everybody to intervene punctually or to follow the discussions regularly.

The notebooks, Edition and diffusion

" The Notebooks of proposals are the fruit of a collective edition work within a network constituted to publish texts in several languages, which regroups the institutional or associative publishers based in Peru, Brazil, Zimbabwe, France, Lebanon, India and in China. The publication and the diffusion of notebooks will begin at the end of the year 2001 and will continue during the following years, allowing proposals to be valorized in different opportunities (international meetings, etc.). "

Breakthroughs

The "breakthroughs " are proposals of strategies and actions that constitute a major rupture in a certain domain or milieu. They are extracted of notebooks of proposals written by the thematic Workshops and colleges of the alliance in 2001. As the Charter for a Responsible, Plural and United World, the breakthroughs will be one of the central elements of discussion of the Citizens World Assembly, in Lille (France) in December 2001.
