Pour aller dans le sens de Gustavo, je dirais qu'il serait utile de rappeler
l'importance de la charte de la terre, mais aussi aller ā la recherche
d'autres chartes, d'autres textes forts presents dans d'autres cultures
(charte de la liberte en Afrique du Sud etc..). Ces textes existent
certainement, sinon comment initier un processus d'elaboration de chartes
diverses. Finalement comment valoriser toute cette richesse? Est-ce en en
faisant une compilation ou un texte commun qui inclue les autres textes?
Pouvez-vous vous renseigner dans votre region si ce type de documents
circulent ou existent ?
As gustavo said, although it will be usefull to emphasize the importance of
the earth charter, we should look for other texts or charters existing in
other cultures (ex the Freedom charter of South Africa etc..). If these
texts don't exist, how to initiate a process in order to elaborate different
charters? How to value all this richness ? Shall we produce a compilation or
a common text wich includes the others ? And finally, could each of you ask
around if there is any existing text or charter in this spirit?
Ceci m'amene a dire que c'est un processus qui va demander une mobilisation
et des moyens, tout comme l'organisation et la coordination de l'evenement
2001.
Je propose que nous consacrions la seconde moitie de la journee a discuter
de l'assemblee 2001 et puis la matinee du lendemain ( J3) faire le bilan des
possiblites humaines et financieres dont nous disposons pour intitier et
soutenir un tel travail. Cela inclue les moyens de communication.
This leads me to say that it's a process which needs a lot of mobilisation
and means, just like the organisation of the 2001 event.
I'll propose that we spend the second part of the day (2) discussing about
the 2001 event and then the following half day (3) evaluating all the
possibilities (human and financial) that we have to intiate and support such
a work. it includes the communication means.

- Quels sont les moyens humains (contacts, volontaires, groupes deja
organises etc..) diponibles: Je vous invite tous et toutes a y reflechir des
maitenant.
-Faut-il mettre en place une equipe d'organisation de l'evenement? Ou
sera-t-elle basee? Pour combien de temps ?
-De quels moyens fianciers disposons nous? A combien s'eleve la contribution
de la FPH?
- Quelles pourraient etre les autres sources de financement?
- Comment mettre en place une structure juridique qui puisse receuillir des
fonds? Quel type de structure (Fondation, association, ..)? Ou sera-t-elle
basee?
So, morning of day 3:
- What are the human means (contacts, voluntaries, groups already organised
etc...) available. I suggest that everyone starts thinking about the
possibilities around.
-Shall we set up a team to organize the 2001 event ? Where will it be
based? For how long ?
-What are the finacial means that we have ? How much is the FPH
contribution?
-What could be the others sources of funding
- How to set up a structure who could collect the funds? Wich type of
structure (Fondation, Association...)? Where will it be based?

- Listing des differents evenements qui auront lieu plus ou moins a la meme
periode.
- Definir les taches que devra effectuer l'equipe d'organisation et arreter
un calendrier avec des etapes.

1/ Coordonner les projets d'ecriture des chartes
2/ S'articuler avec les autres evenements en cours
3/ Coordonner les differentes intiatives prises dans differentes regions
(ex: villages ephemeres)
4/ Chercher des contacts etc.....

Following the discussion of the day 3
-Listing the different events which will be held more or less at the same
period
- Defining the tasks of the Organisation team and proposing a calendar with
deadlines
Among the tasks I can see:
1/ Coordinating the different projetcs of wrinting the Charters
2/ To articulate ourselves with the other ongoing events
3/Coordinating the different initiatives in different regions of the world
(ex: transcient villages)
4/ Looking for contacts Etc...

10. PM: Orientation Team: role, mandate, composition, activities,

Il ne me semble pas necessaire de consacrer trop de temps a une discussion
sur l'equipe d'orientation etant donne les priorite que nous avons a savoir
l'organisation de l'evenement 2001. Je crois que nous devons bien reflechir
a une equipe d'organisation operationnelle et a une structure d'acceuil qui
lui permette de se mettre rapidement au travail.
Le role de l'equipe d'orientation serait de soutenir cette equipe et de
continuer de nourrir la reflexion et la diffusion de l'information aux
autres allie(e)s.
Je crois qu'avec un peu de bonne volonte, nous arriverons tres rapidement a
un consensus sur le role, les activites et les responsabilites de cette
equipe d'orientation.
I don't think it's relevent to spend to much time discussing about the
orientation team, because our priority is the 2001 event. We should
concentrate more on the organisation team and a possible structure in order
to make it quickly operational.
The role of the orientation team would be to support the organisation team
and to diffuse the informations to the others allies.
I think that with a little bit of good will, we will reach very quickly a
consensus on the role, activities and responsibilities of the Orientation
team.
Pour finir, juste vous dire que K.ann et moi meme attendons impatiemment vos
fiches de presentation. S'il vous plait, ne depassez pas le 15 Aout.
Nous attendons egalement vos commentaires et propositions quand au
deroulement et au contenu de la reunion de septembre.
