The alliance and the political question

Humankind faces two types of crises - between human beings and nature, and
among human beings themselves. Of these, internecine strife is more serious
because it is the result of a conscious decision, and is not impersonal.
For this reason, internecine strife can lead to total destruction, whereas
natural disasters can be contained.

In a globalized society it is essential to deal with this problem, because
it is no longer acceptable to regulate society by directing hate and
violence away from within the society and towards foreigners.

The problem can be addressed by finding adversaries among ideologies which
use globalization for selfish ends. These need to be analyzed with care in
order to choose the correct adversaries.

Of the two alternative approaches towards creating change -changing
structures, and changing attitudes - the latter must be considered most
important, as a study of the great reformers of history shows. Meaningful
structural change only comes as a result of ideological change.

The alliance needs to identify, and work with, worlds leaders which have a
spiritual vision, and also identify structures which can be successfully
transformed from a local scale to a global scale.
