1/ ** Le College Inter-religieux **
Le College inter-religieux de l'Alliance a ete lance lors de la conference
inter-religieuse qui s'est tenue au Cenacle , a Geneve , en Septembre 1999
sur le theme " la responsabilite des religions a l'egard de l'humanite ".
Les participants provenaient de differentes traditions religieuses et
philosophiques : chretiens, juifs, musulmans, bouddhistes, hindous,
confucianistes, baha'i. Apres la correspondance qui a suivi la conference,
un forum electronique a ete lance en novembre 2000 non seulement pour les
participants de la Conference mais egalement pour des organisations
inter-religieuses et toutes les personnes interessees en vue d'une
cooperation et d'une communication inter-religieuse meilleures. Les
coordinateurs du forum sont Jean Fisher, animateur du College, John Taylor
et Catherine de Bretagne. La rencontre du college sera organisee autour du
theme " Avenir de l'humanite - responsabilites et engagements des familles
religieuses"" a l'Institut oeucumenique de Bossey, Geneve du 21 au 26 aout
2001.
Ce sera la tache du forum dans les echanges preparatoires, se sera aussi
l'attente avec d'autres forums et colleges de l'Alliance, et lors de la
conference d'aout elle-meme afin de preparer les propositions pour
l'Assemblee de l'Alliance a Lille en decembre 2001.

2/ ** Un exemple de partenariat au service du College inter religieux **
LE CENTRE DE RECHERCHE POUR LA PAIX :
Le Centre de Recherche sur la Paix est un pole universitaire de recherche
et de debat sur les relations internationales. Oriente vers la
comprehension des conflits contemporains, il met particulierement l'accent
sur l'analyse des facteurs favorisant la prevention des conflits et la
construction de la paix.
Parmi ses activites, le CRP developpe en 2001 un programme de recherches
sur la signification et la portee sociale des actions des elites
religieuses, concretement sur le role de celles-ci dans la construction de
l'Europe. Constatant des convergences du CRP et de la FPH, particulierement
sur la demarche du College Interreligieux, et cherchant a articuler leurs
approches, differentes et complementaires, les deux institutions
etablissent un PARTENARIAT pour la preparation, l'animation et le suivi du
College Interreligieux, en appui a l'animation deja engagee par John Taylor.
Le CRP met a la disposition de ce partenariat:
- son experience dans l'analyse scientifique, enrichie par la connaissance
de la demarche de la FPH grace a un travail de partenariat realise
precedemment avec des resultats satisfaisants pour les uns et pour les autres
- le travail scientifique d'une equipe de chercheurs, aidee par un groupe
d'etudiants de Doctorat en relations internationales
- la mise en commun de ses reseaux religieux dans le monde -un capital
financier disponible pour l'organisation des contacts et des rencontres
avec des elites religieuses europeennes.
Ce travail du CRP s'inscrit dans une demarche scientifique dont l'objet
d'analyse est l'experience et l'action des croyants, de tous les continents
et de toutes les grandes familles religieuses. Henri Bauer, chercheur au
CRP sur le role des religions dans la construction de la paix, sera le
responsable des taches suivantes:
- Coordonner les recherches realisees par l'equipe de chercheurs du CRP.
Ces recherches seront axees sur deux procedures. Le reperage et l'analyse
des experiences concretes les plus novatrices refletant la capacite de
telle ou telle famille religieuse a s'attaquer aux defis du monde
contemporain ou a entreprendre les mutations necessaires. La construction
de modalites de convergence de ces acteurs ainsi que des espaces de
dialogue sur ces defis.
- Organiser et animer le travail du groupe d'etudiants du CRP. La mission
de ces etudiants sera de collaborer avec l'equipe de chercheurs. Ils
pourront aussi aller a la rencontre de responsables religieux, realiser des
interviews, assister a des rencontres, a des colloques, faire des
recherches theoriques, etc. - Participer a l'animation du forum electronique
- Participer a la gestion du site web
- Elaborer un cahier de propositions en vue de la rencontre interreligieuse
d'aout 2001 a Geneve
- Maintenir des liens avec John Taylor, animateur du College, pour une
articulation harmonieuse de leurs responsabilites. En ce qui concerne le
College Interreligieux, l'objectif de ce partenariat est de lui fournir des
outils de travail: des reseaux, des techniques, des analyses, des
propositions, etc., qui peuvent enrichir ses demarches et sa portee

1/ The Inter religious college
The Inter-religious College of the Alliance was initiated at an
inter-religious conference held at Le Cenacle, Geneva, in September 1999 on
the theme of "The Responsibility of Religions to Humankind". Participants
included Christians of all major confessions, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists,
Hindus, Confucianists and a Baha'i; some were related to religious
institutions and all came in an individual capacity. After correspondence
which followed up the conference, an electronic forum was launched in
november 2000 offered not only to the conference participants but also to
several inter-religious organizations and to interested individuals on the
urgent need for improved inter-religious communication and co-operation.
Co-ordinators of this forum are Jean Fischer, Moderator of the
Inter-religious College, John Taylor and Catherine de Bretagne. The meeting
of the College is being planned, on the theme "The Responsibilities of
Religious Families for the Future of Humanity", to be held 21-26 August
2001 at the Ecumenical Institute, Bossey, Geneva. It will be the task of
the forum in preparatory interchanges, also it is to be hoped with other
forums and colleges of the Alliance, and then of the August conference
itself to prepare propositions for the December 2001 Assembly of the
Alliance in Lille.

2/ A PARTNERSHIP TO THE SERVICE OF THE COLLEGE INTERRELIGIEUX
THE CENTER OF RESEARCH FOR PEACE:
The Research Center on Peace is an academic pole of research and debate on
the international relations. Orient toward the understanding of the
contemporary conflicts, it especially puts the accent on the analysis of
the factors encouraging the prevention of conflicts and construction of peace.
Among its activities, the RCP develops in 2001 a program of research on the
significance and the social range of religious elites' actions, concretely
on role of these in Europe in construction. Noting convergences of the RCP
and the FPH, especially on the gait of the Inter religious College, and
looking for to articulate their approaches, different and complementary,
the two institutions establish a PARTNERSHIP for the preparation, the
animation and the follow-up of the Inter religious College, in support at
the animation already hired by John Taylor.
The RCP puts in disposition of this partnership:
- its experience in the scientific analysis, enriched by the knowledge of
the gait of the FPH, thanks to a partnership work achieved previously with
satisfactory results for everybody
- the scientific work of a team of researchers, assisted by a group of
Doctorate students in international relations
- the stake in common of religious networks in the world - an available
financial capital for the organization of contacts and meetings with
European religious elites.
This RCP work appears in a scientific gait of which the object of analysis
is the experience and the action of the believers, all continents and all
big religious families. Henri Bauer, researcher in the RCP on the role of
the religions in the construction of peace, will be the person responsible
of the following stains:
- To coordinate the research achieved by the researchers team of the RCP.
These research will be centered on two procedures. The location and the
analysis of the most innovative concrete experiences reflecting the
capacity of such or such religious family to meet the challenges of the
contemporary world or enterprise the necessary mutations. The construction
of modes of convergence of these actors as well as the spaces of dialogue
on these challenges.
- To organize and to enliven the work of the students group of the RCP. The
mission of these students will be to collaborate with the researchers team.
They will also go to the meeting of religious responsible persons, to
achieve some interviews, to attend at some meetings, to the symposia, to
make theoretical research, etc.
- To participate at the animation of the electronic forum
- To participate to the management of the web site
- To elaborate a proposals files in view of the inter religious meeting in
August 2001 in Geneva
- To maintain some links with John Taylor, the College facilator, for a
harmonious articulation of their responsibilities. With regard to the Inter
religious College, the objective of this partnership is to provide him some
work tools: networks, technics, analyses, proposals, etc., that can enrich
its steps and its range
