Personal Information: I received a postgraduate degree in theology from the
University of Tuebingen in Germany where I graduated in 1993 and where I
attended the first seminars concerned with the development of a Global
Ethic. In 1994 I moved to the United Kingdom and started my PhD Research at
the University of Birmingham. My field of research is Inter-cultural,
Inter-religious Dialogue and Co-operation, especially in relation to the UN
System and Globalization, focusing on international organisations,
initiatives and movements.
I wrote a PhD thesis on Inter-religious Co-operation in a Global Age and
hope to receive the degree in 2001. Since 1994 I have been using the
internet for inter-religious co-operation and have worked with the
International Interfaith Centre in Oxford, the International Association
for Religious Freedom and the United Religions Initiative. I have been the
European Co-ordinator of the United Religions Initiative (URI) and am
committed to working towards a global civil society. At present I am the
convenor of the UNESCO Co-operation Circle of the URI. The purpose of the
URI is to create a permanent public forum and global inter-religious
network where people of many faiths gather in mutual respect to pursue
justice, healing and peace.
