Evaluation of the Communication System for the Continental Meetings of June 2001 Laia Botey, Marina Urquidi - 03 December 1998 In the framework of the 2000-2001 Alliance Assembly, five simultaneous continental meetings were organized in India, Tanzania, Romania, Ecuador and Lebanon. An informational and symbolic communication system was set up among the meetings: each was attended by representatives of the four other meetings, daily messages ("editorials") were sent to the other meetings to inform them of the work in progress, the collective dynamics, the context, and the Drums for Peace, which resounded in every meeting on June 21. Local journalists and media were also contacted.

In parallel, discussions were held on how to "govern" the Alliance, leading to the election of an "International Facilitation Team" (IFT). The latter met for the first time in Barcelona, in September 1999. This document presents a report of the main decisions resulting from this meeting.
