Experience Reports on Implementing Citizens Conferences

This document has been made after the documents compiled for a meeting of the workshop "Renewal of Politics " of the alliance that was held in Brussels in 1998 on the theme of the conferences of citizens. Some other sheets from the DPH basis (Dialogues for the Progress of the humanity) has been added. This file collects experiences of involvement citizen that put in play the most essential foundations of our democratic societies, while encouraging the generalization of the deliberative processes, remained too often confined close to the spheres of the state. Not to get instead public powers, but to create within the representative régimes another political logic that, if it doesn't necessarily have for direct consequence the takes decisions, don't contribute less of them to orient it in a constructive manner and to give him a democratic setting. The practices of information, exchange and deliberation setting in work by these conferences of citizens, because they permit to fear the domains where already made solutions don't exist, hand on the agenda the capacity of proposition of the civil society.
