European Continental Assembly

The European continental assembly, in Romania from 17 to 21 of June 2001, will gather 200 persons from different European countries. In this forum concrete propositions will be elaborated, resulting of a year work and collaboration between Europeans. This initiative of the emerging European civil society appears especially unusual at a moment when Europeans are still rarely consulted even though the European Union is entering a new historic phase of its construction.
The document gives some information about the progress of the assembly : the participants, the themes, how they will be discussed as well as the expected results.
